Kenneth Wayne Keene, (Ken Keene), manager and promoter for International entertainer and recording artist Frankie Ford, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2004 at approximately 6:30 PM, due to complications of diabetes. He was the son of the late Dorsey Keene and Leah Keene-Nunley and the brother of Roberta Nunley-Buetow. Mr. Keene was the business partner and "brother" of Frankie Ford for over thirty-five years, as well as his extended family of Eddie Mahne, Jr. and Curtis & Nancy Hebert. Ken Keene was born on April 12, 1941 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
During his long career as manager, Mr. Keene was responsible for booking Frankie Ford at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Madison Square Garden, Hollywood Bowl, Universal Amphitheater, and the Fox theatres in Atlanta and St. Louis. High points of his dynamic career also included bookings at the Chicago Theatre following Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, and Dionne Warwick and booking Mr. Ford at Lincoln Center in New York. Ken was the producer of three of Frankie Ford's latest CDs, along with various other artists that he managed. Ken Keene received an award by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers for producing the country song "The Twelfth of Never". Mr. Keene was a member of ASCAP, BMI, and NARAS and was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. A date for a Memorial Service will be announced.

This Gretna, Louisiana based corporation is involved in many aspects of the entertainment and music business, including Artist Management & Booking, Music Publishing and Record Production.

Ken Keene was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on April 12, 1941; he graduated from Grammar School in Metz, France in 1955 and from High School in 1959 in Clay Center, Kansas. Ken was inducted into the Louisiana Hall of Fame on September 19, 1993 and he was awarded the ASCAP Producers Award for his production of the country version of "The Twelfth of Never" by Narvel Felts.
He is co-producer of two recent Frankie Ford albums, "Hot & Lonely" and "A New Orleans Tradition." Ken is also a voting member of National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS).
As a songwriter, his "Lonely Street" has been recorded by such artists as Frankie Ford, Denny Barberio and Sondra Sutton. Ken says, "I have been truly blessed and the best thing that ever happened to me was meeting Frankie Ford in Salina, Kansas in 1960 on a Dick Clark Caravan of Stars show, which I helped promote."
